the beaches in Tavira are long white sandy beaches with all the
necessary facilities. In total Tavira’s beaches extend for
18 kilometres along the Ria’s barrier islands. With water
temperatures of 21degrees in the warm season it has a Mediterranean
feel. And is considered one of the areas with the highest average

Praia do Barril:
From
the villa this is probably the best beach to go to, as you can either
take mini-train (if you have kids, they will love it!) or you can
walk beside the train track (15 minute walk). It only takes 10 minutes
to get to the mini-train by car from the villa so it is easily accessible.
Don’t miss the anchor cemetery by the dune on the left. Amenities
include life-guard, WC, showers, disabled access, restaurants and
bars. Sailing, windsurfing, football, diving and Volley-ball can
also be played here.
Praia
da ilha de Tavira:
Leaving from Quatro Aguas the boat takes you to Praia da ilha in
five minutes. You can also get the boat from Tavira town behind
the old municipal market. Once on the beach a host of amenities
are available such as bars, restaurants, life-guard, showers, WC.
Praia
de Santa Luzia:
This lovely beach is set between both of the above beaches. It can
be reached by ferry which goes back and forth every 30 minutes.
Facilities include bar, WC, showers and life guard. There are motorboats
and areas for playing volleyball and football.
